Primal Scream 'disgusted' by politician's song use
Primal Scream 'disgusted' by politician's song use, Rockers Primal Scream have slammed Home Secretary Theresa May after she used the band's song Rocks without permission, insisting the group is "disgusted" to be associated with her political party. After her speech at the Conservative Party's annual conference on Tuesday, May walked off the stage to the rockers' 1994 hit. But the move has infuriated the band, who have released a statement mocking the politician for failing to understand the meaning behind the music or Primal Scream's political viewpoint.

The statement reads, "Primal Scream are totally disgusted that the Home Secretary Theresa May ended her speech at the Tory (Conservative) Party conference with our song 'Rocks'.

"How inappropriate. Didn't they research the political history of our band? Hasn't she listened to the words? Does she even know what getting your rocks off means? No. She is a (Conservative) Tory; how could she?

"Primal Scream are totally opposed to the coalition government, (Prime Minister David) Cameron, (Chancellor George) Osborne, (Education minister Michael) Gove, (Michael) Howard, (Deputy Prime Minister Nick) Clegg, etc.

"They are legalised bullies passing new laws to ensure the wealthy stay wealthy, taking the side of big business while eradicating workers rights and continuing their attacks on young people, single parents and OAPs (old age pensioners) by slashing education and social security budgets, in effect persecuting the poor for being poor.

"We would like to distance ourselves from this sick association. The Tories are waging a war on the disenfranchised. They are the enemy."
