Jason Bateman Identity Theft
Jason Bateman Identity Theft, Melissa McCarthy and Jason Bateman Pulling Off an 'ID Theft', No identity is safe from Melissa McCarthy and Jason Bateman. The "Bridesmaids" scene-stealer and "Horrible Bosses" star are set to invade some privacy as the stars of the new comedy, "ID Theft," according to Deadline."ID Theft" was originally written by Steve Conrad ("The Pursuit of Happyness") to be about a guy who gets his identity stolen by another guy. However, when co-producer Bateman saw McCarthy's exquisite comedic performance in "Bridesmaids," he pushed for the part of the thief to be rewritten for her.
Bateman will, of course, be playing the victim of the crime, and will probably be doing that quietly exasperated thing he does so well throughout.
Jason Bateman provided a double dose of raunchy R-rated comedy this summer, appearing in both "The Change-Up" and "Horrible Bosses." He'll be reprising his iconic role as Michael Bluth in the feature film adaptation of his much-beloved television series, "Arrested Development," which will hit theaters sometime in 2012.
Melissa McCarthy will next be seen with Paul Rudd, Leslie Mann, Jason Segel and Megan Fox in Judd Apatow's latest comedy, "This is Forty," opening June 1, 2012.
"ID Theft" will begin shooting in April 2012, when McCarthy is on hiatus from her television series, "Mike & Molly."
